The federal government says {that a} complete of RM350 million has been allotted for upkeep works on 563 federal roads within the peninsula this 12 months. In line with deputy works minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, RM275 million shall be for periodic pavement upkeep work and RM75 million for non-pavement upkeep work.
He mentioned that the upkeep work is being provided to grade G1 to G4 contractors via balloting, with the balloting course of for the programme within the south zone being held this week, whereas that for the north zone shall be carried out on June 5-6, Bernama stories.
Ahmad mentioned this was to make sure that all contractors concerned are given equal alternatives.
