Proton has handed over a S70 to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to be used by the Muallim district police as a patrol automotive. The handover ceremony occurred following the groundbreaking ceremony for the development of the carmaker’s first electrical car (EV) manufacturing facility in Tanjong Malim.
The S70 was offered by Proton board member Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, with Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, Proton CEO Li Chunrong and Proton deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah in attendance.
We perceive that just one unit of the S70, which is a Flagship variant, was handed over to the Muallim district police. As a PDRM car, the automotive is decked out in official livery and will get a lightweight bar and siren put in on its roof.
The Flagship is the second-highest variant within the S70 vary and retails for RM89,800. All S70s are powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine making 150 PS (148 hp or 110 kW) and 226 Nm of torque, with drive going to the entrance wheels by way of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The following step up is the Flagship X at RM94,800 that provides on a sunroof and digital video recorder.
