On 4 October 2024, EU governments voted on implementing tariffs on Chinese language automakers exporting electrical automobiles (EVs) to the area. Ten nations voted in favour of the measures (45.99% of the whole vote), 12 abstained (31.36%), and 5 voted towards them (22.65%). This was not sufficient to safe a majority in favour, so the European Fee (EC) forged its deciding vote to push the measures over the end line.
