Foxconn, Stellantis JV set up R&D for automotive semiconductors tech in India, ET Auto

SiliconAuto is a three way partnership between the Netherlands-based Stellantis NV and Hon Hai Expertise Group.

New Delhi: Foxconn-backed automotive expertise firm SiliconAuto has arrange its analysis and improvement centre in Bengaluru which can give attention to semiconductor product design and system-on-chip improvement for the automotive sector. SiliconAuto is a three way partnership between the Netherlands-based Stellantis NV and Hon Hai Expertise Group (Foxconn).

“This new centre embodies SiliconAuto’s dedication to innovation and excellence within the automotive business. Our India workforce is ready to drive ahead our imaginative and prescient of a better and safer future for transportation. Bangalore, with its wealthy expertise pool and thriving tech ecosystem, is the proper location for our new design centre,” SiliconAuto CEO, Gene Liu mentioned in an announcement.

Foxconn India consultant V Lee, in a social media put up, mentioned the R&D centre is poised to speed up the corporate’s modern capabilities within the improvement of cutting-edge automotive applied sciences and options for the automotive business, together with Stellantis.

Foxconn is in technique of establishing its electrical car manufacturing plant in addition to has plans to arrange a battery manufacturing unit for electrical autos.

In an announcement, SiliconAuto mentioned that the India design centre will give attention to the event of next-generation semiconductor options for electrical autos (EVs), autonomous driving and linked automotive applied sciences.

“With this enlargement, SiliconAuto reaffirms its dedication to India as a key marketplace for expertise and technological developments.

“The corporate plans to recruit high engineers and designers, additional strengthening its workforce and contributing to India’s quickly rising automotive ecosystem,” the assertion mentioned.
