Indian Navy partners with Indian Oil to test green hydrogen fuel cell buses, ET Auto

IndianOil at the moment operates 15 gasoline cell buses which have collectively coated 300,000 kilometers in Delhi-NCR and Gujarat.

New Delhi: The Indian Navy has teamed up with Indian Oil to check and presumably develop using inexperienced hydrogen gasoline cell buses. This collaboration was solidified by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at Nau Sena Bhawan in New Delhi. The occasion witnessed the presence of Admiral Dinesh Okay Tripathi, Chief of Naval Workers, and S M Vaidya, Chairman of IndianOil.

The MoU was exchanged by Vice Admiral Deepak Kapoor, Controller of Logistics, Indian Navy, and Dr. Kannan Chandrasekaran, Govt Director of IndianOil. This transfer signifies a strategic shift in the direction of incorporating superior vitality options in army transport.

Admiral Tripathi said, “The partnership between IndianOil and the Indian Navy is constructed on an unbreakable bond of belief. We will likely be testing one of many hydrogen buses and searching ahead to deploying environment-friendly transportation in bigger numbers.”

S M Vaidya highlighted the broader affect of this initiative. “As we proceed to assist our defence forces with modern, forward-looking options that cater to tomorrow’s wants. IndianOil has been main the best way in advancing inexperienced hydrogen and gasoline cell applied sciences,” he mentioned.

IndianOil at the moment operates 15 gasoline cell buses which have collectively coated 300,000 kilometers in Delhi-NCR and Gujarat. Every bus on this fleet is projected to run no less than 20,000 kilometers. This program is aimed toward demonstrating the operational viability of hydrogen gasoline know-how in public and strategic transport, aligning with governmental efforts in the direction of sustainable mobility options.
