TI is demonstrating these new merchandise on the 2024 Client Electronics Present (CES) within the US.

Texas Devices (TI) has launched new semiconductors designed to enhance automotive security and intelligence.

The AWR2544 77GHz mm-wave radar sensor chip is the trade’s first for satellite tv for pc radar architectures, enabling increased ranges of autonomy by enhancing sensor fusion and decision-making in ADAS, an organization launch stated.

TI’s new software-programmable driver chips, the DRV3946-Q1 built-in contactor driver and DRV3901-Q1 built-in squib driver for pyro fuses, provide built-in diagnostics and help practical security for battery administration and powertrain programs. TI is demonstrating these new merchandise on the 2024 Client Electronics Present (CES) within the US.

“Semiconductor improvements like those we’re showcasing this 12 months at CES are serving to automotive programs proceed to evolve and contribute to a safer driver expertise,” Fern Yoon, director of Automotive Methods at Texas Devices, stated. “From extra superior driver help programs to smarter electrical car powertrain programs, TI is working alongside automakers to reimagine how dependable and clever expertise can allow safer autos.”

Many automakers are including extra sensors across the automobile to enhance car security and autonomy. TI’s AWR2544 single-chip radar sensor is the trade’s first designed for satellite tv for pc architectures. In satellite tv for pc architectures, radar sensors output semi-processed knowledge to a central processor for ADAS decision-making utilizing sensor fusion algorithms, making the most of the 360-degree sensor protection to realize increased ranges of auto security, the discharge stated.

The AWR2544 single-chip radar sensor can be the trade’s first with launch-on-package (LOP) expertise. LOP expertise helps scale back the dimensions of the sensor by as a lot as 30% by mounting a 3D waveguide antenna on the alternative facet of the printed circuit board. LOP expertise additionally allows sensor ranges to increase past 200m with a single chip. In satellite tv for pc architectures, these options allow automakers to extend ADAS intelligence for increased car autonomy ranges to make smarter selections from farther away. The AWR2544 is the newest in TI’s radar sensor portfolio, which helps a variety of ADAS functions and architectures with sensors developed for nook, entrance, imaging, facet and rear radar programs, the discharge added.
