US carmaker Ford introduced Friday it should lower round 1,100 jobs at its manufacturing unit within the Spanish metropolis of Valencia because it reorganises its operations in Europe.
The cuts are because of the halt of the manufacturing of the S-Max and Galaxy fashions on the manufacturing unit in April, an organization spokeswoman advised AFP.
“Round 1,100 jobs are involved,” stated the spokeswoman, including that Ford would “work constructively with the commerce unions to cut back the affect” of the cuts “on staff, their households and the local people.”
The cuts comply with the announcement final month by Ford of three,800 job cuts elsewhere in Europe, together with 2,300 positions in Germany and 1,300 in Britain.
