KUCHING (Jan 2): 5 autos had been seized throughout an operation carried out by the Sarawak Highway and Transport Division (Sarawak JPJ) in chosen places all through the state on Saturday.
In a Fb put up, Sarawak JPJ stated that the “Ops Khas Ambang Tahun Baharu 2023” operation was carried out with the main focus given to monitoring and detecting street customers who didn’t adjust to the rules underneath Highway Transport Act 1987 (Act 333) and the Industrial Automobile Licensing Board Act 1987 (Act 334).
“In the course of the operation, notices had been issued towards street customers for varied offences akin to no driver’s licence, no street tax, no insurance coverage safety and misuse of high-intensity discharge lights,” it added.
Additionally current through the operation had been Sarawak JPJ director Norizan Jili, Sarawak JPJ head of enforcement part Maya Morshidi and Sarawak JPJ head of operations part Saifullah Ali.
