A lawsuit that has rumbled on for 2 years has resulted in a single provider being banned from making and promoting electrical automobile (EV) batteries within the US for ten years.
The case includes LG Chem and SK Innovation, each of that are headquartered in Seoul and are a few of the largest suppliers of batteries to the EV sector. LGC alleged that SKI had obtained sizeable orders from Ford and Volkswagen within the US by utilising LGC commerce secrets and techniques. SKI fought and misplaced the case, and in February was issued a ‘restricted exclusion order’ that prohibits it from making and promoting EV batteries on US soil for a decade.
SKI is in the end judged to have stolen mental property from LGC for its batteries, however issues may have been worse.
