New Delhi: The federal government has initiated the method for figuring out potential sandbox websites for superior air mobility options in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.
Superior air mobility options embrace eVTOLs (electrical Vertical Take Off Touchdown) plane or air taxis.
The civil aviation ministry is trying to have a regulatory sandbox for superior air mobility options that may even assist tackle city congestion.
In a written reply to Lok Sabha on Thursday, minister of state for civil aviation Murlidhar Mohol mentioned potential sandbox websites are being appeared for superior air mobility options.
“With a view to advertise the superior air mobility within the nation and create an enabling eco-system, a delegation consisting of officers from the ministry, DGCA and AAI (Airports Authority of India) and business stakeholders lately visited the next potential sandbox websites within the States of Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh,” he mentioned.
The potential websites are Mandvi airstrip in Kutch, Sabarmati River Entrance (Gujarat), Kurnool and Puttaparthi airports (Andhra Pradesh).
The Directorate Normal of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is creating the regulatory framework for eVTOL plane.
The steering materials for ‘Design, Operation and Authorisation of Vertiports’ and ‘Sort Certification’ of vertical take-off and touchdown succesful plane have already been issued by the regulator.
